SYNOPSIS OF MODULE 1

ETHICS

Ethics are a part of a person’s beliefs and values.

As a result, all that can be done in an ethics class is to demonstrate ethical business practices within the bail bond business. Each individual’s ethics will vary depending on their upbringing and life experiences and they will apply it to what is being taught in this class.

Based on the individuals own morals, beliefs and life experiences they will choose to accept the ethical concept being demonstrated.

As a result, the purpose of this module is to create discussion of the class participants associated with the bail bond profession as to what is ethical.

If a scenario is something that an agent has experienced they will then gain knowledge as to whether or not it would be considered ethical or un-ethical to the majority of those in the profession.

This module will be updated according to situations that arise in the bail bond business so the class participant can decided if the situation violates the perceived ethics within the bail industry.

SYNOPSIS OF MODULE 2

THE BOND AS A CONTRACT

As a result of Colorado case law referencing the bond as a contract it is imperative that bail agents understand the concept and understand the parts of the contract.

It is important that the agents understand that the agent is not the only one bound by the contract.

This purpose of this module is to educate the agent on the parts of the contract, the entities involved and bound by the contract and the responsibilities of those bound by the contract.

The responsibilities of the entities bound by the contract are delineated by the bond contract and the Colorado Revised Statutes that reference bail.

It is important that the agents correlate the bond contract and the statutes.

This module will show how all interact.
